Naylor Brothers Trophy

Sunday 8th June 2003

Today was a good day but best of all today winning the concours for MG TA,TB and TC cars for which I was awarded the Naylor Brothers Trophy and winning the cup for best overall in show.  This was on the Historic Houses Run incorporating the seventeenth Wings run. The Wings run came about from the team of MG's that the late Capt. George Eyston ran in the 30's.  Each member of the team was given a presentation set of wings, the drivers were given gold ones whilst the mechanics received silver.

S.C.H. (Sammy) Davis, who at one time was a motoring correspondent with Autocar, was the team manager and it was his idea to present these wings (see photo below).  The run today, Sunday 8th June is in celebration of the acheivments of these great MG personalities and of course the building of our great MG cars in Abingdon.
